The Thiruvutsavam 2026 at Mammalassery Sree Rama Swami Temple in Ernakulam is a vibrant and spiritually enriching festival that attracts devotees from across Kerala and beyond.
The temple, renowned as a prominent Nalambalam in Ernakulam, comes alive during this period with a series of religious ceremonies, music and dance reflecting the rich heritage of Kerala’s temple festivals.
The festival begins with the ceremonial flag hoisting on February 9, performed during the auspicious Vishakha Nakshatra, signifying the official commencement of the festivities. Each day of the festival is marked by intricate rituals such as Palliyunarthal, Navakam, Panchagavya and Mulapooja which are conducted meticulously by the temple priests. Devotees actively participate in these rituals offering prayers and receiving blessings fostering a deep spiritual connection.
Evenings feature Deepa Aradhana, cultural programs and traditional performances including Bharatanatyam, Kaikottikali, and Pancharimelam. Special ceremonies like Pallivetta, Aarattu and Annadanam are performed on designated days, attracting large gatherings of devotees. The eighth day of the festival, Thiruvonam is the grand finale highlighted by the Aarattu procession, decorative lamps, garlands and a traditional feast symbolizing the completion of the celebrations with divine blessings.
