Thiruvutsavam 2026 at Peruvaram Sree Mahadeva Temple located in North Paravur in Ernakulam district is one of the most spiritually vibrant and culturally rich temple festivals in the region. Celebrated with deep devotion and traditional grandeur, the annual festival brings together devotees, artists and temple patrons for days of sacred rituals, cultural performances and community participation.
The festival begins with the auspicious Kodiyettam marking the formal commencement of the celebrations. From the early morning Nirmalya Darshan and special homams to the evening Deeparadhana and cultural programs each day follows a structured sequence of temple rituals rooted in centuries old traditions. The temple premises become a hub of devotion as Vedic chants, devotional hymns and sacred recitations fill the air.
A major highlight of the festival is the majestic Panchavadyam and Panchari Melam performed by renowned artists creating a spiritually electrifying atmosphere. Traditional art forms such as classical dance, bhajans, Chakyarkoothu and Carnatic and Hindustani music concerts enrich the cultural dimension of the celebration. The Kazhcha Seeveli processions accompanied by caparisoned elephants and traditional percussion ensembles reflect the grandeur associated with Kerala temple festivals.
Valiya Vilakku observed with special poojas and elaborate rituals is one of the most important days of the festival. The celebrations conclude with the sacred Arattu procession where the deity is ceremonially taken for the ritual bath followed by the return procession marked by music, lamps and devotional fervor.
