അയ്യപ്പൻ വിളക്ക് 2026 ശബരിമല ശ്രീ അയ്യപ്പ സ്വാമി ക്ഷേത്രം എറണാകുളം | Ayyappan Vilaku 2026 Swami Sharanam Alangattu Yogam Sabarimala Swami Bhakta Jana Sangh Ernakulam
The Ayyappan Vilaku is one of the most significant and historic devotional events associated with Lord Ayyappa, organized annually by the Alangattu Yogam Sabarimala Swami Bhakthajana Sangham. In 2026, this grand festival commenced on 2nd January 2026 (Dhanu 18, 1201) beginning with the lighting of lamps and rituals at the Aluva Mahadeva Temple, the origin of the Alangattu Yogam.
The sacred procession known as the Petta Purappadu carries the divine energy and blessings of Lord Ayyappa from Aluva to Sabarimala, passing through multiple temples along the route, including Erumeli, Muvattupuzha and Perumbavoor among others.
The festival begins with elaborate preparations at the Yogam headquarters, where ceremonial lamps, flags and the symbolic Gola are installed. Under the leadership of devotees like Rajesh Kurup Swami the procession moves with chanting, devotional songs, Panchavadyam, Chenda melam, Kavadi and Nadhaswaram performances creating an atmosphere charged with divine energy.
Each temple along the route receives the procession with traditional welcomes emphasizing the deep connection between local communities and the faith-driven journey of the devotees.
Throughout the festival, several sacred rituals are performed including Panaka Pooja, Annadanam, Neyyabhishekam and Appam Aravana, symbolizing devotion, service and prosperity. Notable dates include 11th January 2026 (Dhanu 27, 1201) for the main Petta Darshanam and procession where devotees witness the symbolic rising of the stars representing the arrival of Lord Mahadeva. The procession concludes with rituals at the temple sanctum, circumambulation and ceremonial offerings signifying the completion of the festival with blessings for health, prosperity, and spiritual upliftment.
