The presiding deity is Lord Lakshmana, who is worshipped in this sacred shrine. It is one of the four temples that make up the Nalambalam.

The temple is managed by the Travancore Devaswom Board and remains open from 5:00 AM to 11:00 AM and 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
Festivals
The Temple has a number of festivals. The important ones are :
Vaikuntha Ekadashi
Vaikuntha Ekadashi is a significant Hindu festival, especially revered by Vaishnavas. Celebrated on the 11th lunar day (Ekadashi) of the waxing phase in the month of Dhanu, it usually falls between December 16 and January 13. This auspicious day, which coincides with Mokshada or Putrada Ekadashi, is believed to grant liberation (moksha) and divine blessings from Lord Vishnu.
Thiruvonam
Thiruvonam is celebrated with great devotion and joy at the temple, marking the return of Mahabali and the blessings of Lord Vishnu. Special poojas, floral decorations, and feasts (Onasadya) are offered, drawing devotees to seek prosperity and harmony.
