After a visit by Vilwamangalam Swamikal, a great disciple of Lord Guruvayoorappan, the temple's poor condition was revealed, with Mahalakshmi herself busy attending to Lord Vishnu due to neglect of temple rituals. Responding to Swamikal's request for the goddess to bless the devotees, Mahalakshmi agreed to manifest in eight forms Ashtalakshmi during the eight days starting with Akshaya Tritiya in the month of Vaisakha.

The ritual of Tambula Samarpanam has become a revered and integral offering at the temple during these eight auspicious days.
Festivals
