 Sree Puthukkulangara Bhagavathi Temple

Dedicated to Bhagavathi, venerated as the fierce yet protective Mother Goddess, this modest temple features classic Kerala-style wood and tile architecture. Daily worship includes sacred poojas, oil lamp offerings, and occasional homas, creating a sanctuary of spiritual peace. Managed by the local temple committee and supported by nearby families, it serves as a focal point for community devotion and rituals .


Festivals

The Temple has a number of festivals. The important ones are :

Bhagavatha Sapthaha & Special Poojas
Celebrated in Meenam–Medam (March–April), this multi day festival begins with a ceremonial flag hoisting (Kodiyettu), followed by daily poojas, traditional percussion, devotional dances, and culminates in an Arattu a ritual bath of the deity’s idol in temple waters. The event draws devotees from Thuravoor and neighboring villages.

Navaratri
Around Vishu (mid-April), the temple hosts a Bhagavatha Sapthahaa seven-day recital of the Bhagavata Purana alongside daily Bhajans and poojas. Additionally, special fire homams are occasionally organized to invoke blessings and peace during challenging times
