Methala Kallil Bhagavathy Temple is an ancient cave temple renowned for its unique setting beneath a massive hanging rock, believed to defy gravity without any visible support. Ayilyam Pooja
Ayilyam Pooja, observed in Kanni Masam (September-October), is dedicated to the serpent deities, Nagaraja and Nagayakshi. This ritual is conducted on the Ayilyam day of the Hindu calendar month, featuring special prayers and offerings, notably the traditional offering known as Noorum Palum, which consists of rice flour and milk. Devotees participate in this puja seeking protection from snake afflictions and blessings for prosperity and well-being from the divine serpents.
