Maholsavam

Pongala

Pongala offering is a significant ritual held during the Malayalam month of Makaram. Devotees, primarily women, gather to prepare the sacred offering of Pongala, which is a sweet dish made from rice, jaggery, and coconut, cooked in earthen pots. This offering is made to Goddess Bhagavathi to seek her blessings for prosperity, health, and well-being, and the event is marked by a sense of devotion and community spirit.
