The temple was built in 1930 CE and underwent renovations in 1964 and 2003. The Panchaloha idol of Lord Ayyappa was installed in 1964, donated by Kunjan Swami of Ernakulam.

The temple's main deity is Lord Ayyappa in a seated posture facing east, similar to Sabarimala. The temple also worships sub-deities Lord Ganapathy, Lord Shiva, Goddess Bhadrakali, and Lord Subramanian.
