Aluva Mahadeva Temple Ernakulam

Aluva Mahadeva Temple, located on the bank of the Periyar River at Aluva Manappuram in suburban Kochi, Ernakulam, is an ancient and revered Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva.

The presiding deity, Lord Shiva, is enshrined in the main sanctum sanctorum facing east, and according to folklore, the idol was installed by sage Parashurama.

Mahashivaratri Maholsavam

The festival includes an all-night vigil, special abhishekams, and continuous chanting of Lord Shiva's names and hymns. Devotees engage in various rituals, including offering bael leaves, fruits, and sweets to Lord Shiva, seeking his blessings for prosperity, health, and spiritual growth.
