The festival begins with Thirukkodiyettu, the ceremonial flag hoisting which marks the official start of the celebrations. Following this, various poojas and homams are conducted daily each aimed at invoking divine grace and prosperity for the community.

One of the highlights of the festival is the Natappandal Samarpanam, a ritual offering of the decorated pavilion, symbolizing the community’s devotion and unity. Another unique feature is Kolamthullal, a traditional ritual dance performed in front of the deity accompanied by rhythmic drumming and music bringing alive the centuries old art forms and cultural heritage of Kerala. The festival culminates with the Thiru Aarattu, the holy bath of the deity which is performed in a nearby sacred water body with elaborate rituals attracting large crowds of devotees who witness and participate in this auspicious ceremony.
