മുളക്കുഴ ഗന്ധർവ്വമുറ്റത്ത് ഭഗവതി ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ തൃക്കാർത്തിക മഹോത്സവം 2026 മാർച്ച് 23 തിങ്കളാഴ്ച (1201 മീനം 9) ഭക്തിനിർഭരമായ ചടങ്ങുകളും പരമ്പരാഗത ആചാരങ്ങളുമായി ആഘോഷിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു.

The Thrikkarthika Mahotsavam at the Gandharvamuttam Bhagavathy Temple is one of the most spiritually vibrant and culturally rich celebrations observed by the devotees of the region. Dedicated to the divine mother Bhagavathy, the festival reflects the deep-rooted temple traditions of Kerala and the strong devotional bond shared by the local community with the presiding deity.
During the festival, the temple premises transform into a sacred and festive atmosphere filled with devotion, rituals, traditional art forms and vibrant cultural activities. Devotees gather from nearby villages and distant places to participate in the auspicious ceremonies and seek the blessings of the goddess. The celebrations begin with early morning temple rituals such as Nirmalya Darshan, Abhishekam, Ganapathi Homam and Ushapooja which are performed according to the traditional tantric practices followed in Kerala temples.
One of the major attractions of the festival is the Kavadiyattam, a devotional offering performed by devotees as an act of faith and gratitude. The rhythmic beats of traditional percussion instruments like Chenda, Thavil, and Nadaswaram create a spiritually uplifting atmosphere throughout the temple surroundings. Cultural performances such as Chakyar Koothu, Karakattam, devotional music programs and classical dance performances are also organized as part of the celebrations enriching the spiritual experience for the devotees.
Another significant highlight of the festival is the Kettukazhcha, where beautifully decorated ceremonial structures from different localities arrive in a grand procession and assemble near the temple. This colorful procession symbolizes community participation and devotion reflecting the collective spirit of the temple’s devotees.
The festival also includes sacred rituals like Kalamezhuthu and Pattu, Chuttu Vilakku and Vilakku Ezhunnellathu which illuminate the temple with hundreds of traditional oil lamps. These rituals symbolize divine light, prosperity, and spiritual purity. Special offerings and prayers are conducted for devotees seeking blessings for prosperity, health, family harmony and the removal of obstacles in life.
