ആലപ്പുഴയിലെ കരുവാറ്റയിലുള്ള തിരുവിലഞ്ഞാൽ ദേവീക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ തിരു ഉത്സവം മാർച്ച്-ഏപ്രിൽ (മീനം) മാസങ്ങളിൽ പരമ്പരാഗത ആചാരങ്ങളോടും ചടുലമായ സാംസ്കാരിക പരിപാടികളോടും കൂടി ആഘോഷിക്കപ്പെടുന്ന 10 ദിവസത്തെ മഹത്തായ വാർഷിക ഉത്സവമാണ്.

This is one of the famous temples in Alappuzha with more than 200 years old history. Durga devi is the main deity of the temple. Jala Durga is also there. Annual festival of this festival is conducted in the Malayalam month of meenam(march/april). Thiru Uthsavam Thiruvilanjal Devi Temple Karuvatta Alappuzha Kerala Annual festival is conducted in order to increase the vigor of the deity.The annual festival is observed in the Malayalam month of meenam(March/april). There is a flag hoisting ceremony marking the beginning of the festival. The shrine is traditionally decorated with plantain, coconut leaves, flowers, leaves, traditional lamps and lights. There are special poojas and offerings during the festival period. Also annadanam is held on all days. Traditional performing arts and music and dance are staged during the festival period. Thousands of devotees throng to witness the events and rituals. Numerous cultural programs and temple arts are performed along with religious discourses on all days of the festival. Caparisoned elephants, melam, fireworks and sheevali are part of the festival. On the final day Arattu (holy bath) takes place, the utsava murti of the deity is taken out of the shrine for ritual bathing. Arattu procession covers the major parts of the town.
