ആലപ്പുഴ ജില്ലയിലെ തകഴി ശ്രീ ധർമ്മശാസ്താ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലെ തിരു ഉത്സവം 2026 ഫെബ്രുവരി 25, 2026 (കുംഭം 13, എം.ഇ 1201) രാവിലെ 9:45 മുതൽ 10:15 വരെ നടക്കുന്ന കൊടിയേറ്റത്തോടെ ആരംഭിച്ച്, മാർച്ച് 3, 2026 (കുംഭം 19) പള്ളിവേട്ടയും മാർച്ച് 4, 2026 (കുംഭം 20) തിരു ആറാട്ടുമായി സമാപിക്കുന്നു.

Thiru Utsavam 2026 at Thakazhy Sree Dharma Sastha Temple is one of the most spiritually vibrant and culturally rich annual festivals celebrated in the region. Dedicated to Lord Dharma Sastha, the temple becomes a center of devotion, ritual grandeur and traditional art forms during the festival days in the Malayalam month of Kumbham (ME 1201).
The festival begins with the sacred Kodiyettu marking the ceremonial commencement of the festivities. From the early hours of the morning, the temple resonates with Vedic chants, devotional hymns and the rhythmic sounds of traditional instruments like nadaswaram and thavil. Special poojas including Ganapathi Homam, Usha Pooja, Abhishekam and Deeparadhana are conducted daily with great devotion. Devotees gather in large numbers to witness the rituals and seek the blessings of Lord Sastha for prosperity, protection and spiritual upliftment.
Cultural programs form a major highlight of the celebration. Classical dance performances, Ottanthullal, devotional music concerts, bhajans and stage programs add to the festive atmosphere. Renowned artists and local performers participate making the temple premises vibrant both spiritually and culturally. Annadanam and prasadam distribution are also organized reflecting the spirit of sharing and devotion.
One of the most significant rituals of the festival is Pallivetta symbolizing the divine hunting expedition of the deity representing the destruction of negative forces. The grand culmination is the Thiru Aarattu, the holy bath ceremony where the deity is taken in a majestic procession accompanied by traditional percussion ensembles and temple rituals. The Aarattu procession is a deeply symbolic event signifying purification and divine grace.
