The festival begins with the ceremonial temple awakening followed by various sacred rites including Sarppam Pattu, Kalabhishekam and Ashtadravya Kalasham. Devotees also engage in Bhagavatha Parayanam, a continuous recitation of the Bhagavata Purana which adds a deep spiritual ambiance to the temple premises. Deepaaradhana and Sopan Sangeetham provide a mesmerizing display of devotion with the temple steps illuminated by countless lamps and accompanied by traditional music.
Processions such as Koottayezhunnallathu and ceremonial dances like Kuthiyottam bring a dynamic energy to the festival while spectacular displays of lamp arrangements and fireworks delight visitors in the evenings.
