The annual Palliyeduppu Utsavam at Devikulangara Bhagavathi Temple is one of the most revered and spiritually significant festivals observed in the Puthuppally Kayamkulam region of Alappuzha district, Kerala. This traditional temple festival reflects the deeprooted ritual customs, collective devotion and cultural heritage associated with Bhagavathi worship in central Kerala. Palliyeduppu Utsavam 2026  at Devikulangara Bhagavathi Temple The festival season for the Malayalam year 1201 spans from 27 January 2026 to 23 March 2026 covering important ritual days and star-based celebrations. The festivities begin with the Makara Bharani Outer Ezhunnallathu on 27 January 2026 (Tuesday), marking the ceremonial commencement of the Palliyeduppu period. During this time the divine presence of Bhagavathi is symbolically taken to various regions including Puthuppally South, Puthuppally North, Govindamuttam, Krishnapuram, Kunnathalummoodu, Prayar North, Kochumuri and other traditional routes accompanied by customary temple rites.

A major highlight of the festival is the Kumbha Bharani Outer Ezhunnallathu on 21 February 2026 (Saturday) which draws a large gathering of devotees. Each Palliyeduppu procession is conducted with utmost ritual purity, traditional instruments and community participation reflecting harmony between faith and local culture. The festival also includes the spiritually important inner ezhunnallathu after the Parayeduppu of Ochira Desam on 13 March 2026 (Friday), performed with Anpoliyodu symbolizing divine compassion and protection. The concluding phase of the celebrations is marked by prominent star-based mahotsavams. The Revathi Mahotsavam is observed on 20 March 2026 (Friday), followed by the Aswathi Mahotsavam on 21 March 2026 (Saturday). The festival season culminates with Nadathurappu and Karthika Mahotsavam on 23 March 2026 (Monday), signifying renewal auspicious beginnings and the continued blessings of the Goddess.
