The Thrikodiyettu Dasadina Mahotsavam and Srimad Devi Bhagavata Navahom Yajnam celebrated at Kadakkappallil Sri Bhadra Bhagavathi Temple, Alappuzha is one of the most revered and spiritually enriching festivals in the region. Thrikodiyettu Dasadina Mahotsavam and Srimad Devi Bhagavata Navahom Yajnam 2026  at Kadakkappallil Sri Bhadra Bhagavathi Temple This festival is dedicated to the divine Mother, Sri Bhadra Bhagavathi and brings together devotees from across Kerala and beyond to partake in sacred rituals, devotional offerings and traditional cultural events. The festival begins with Thrikodiyettu, the ceremonial flag hoisting symbolizing the official commencement of the ten day festivities. This is followed by a series of daily poojas and abhishekams meticulously conducted by the temple priests invoking the blessings of the Goddess for the welfare and prosperity of devotees and the community.

One of the central highlights of the festival is the Srimad Devi Bhagavata Navahom Yajnam, a sacred nine day ritualistic chanting and fire ceremony that involves intense devotion, Vedic recitations and the offering of various sacred items into the fire. This yajnam is believed to purify the surroundings bring spiritual upliftment and fulfill the wishes of the devotees. The festival also features Utsava Pongala, a unique offering prepared by women devotees as an expression of gratitude and devotion to the Goddess. The Pallivetta symbolizing the divine hunt and the Aarattu procession where the deity is taken in a grand procession to the holy waters for ritual bathing are other major attractions. In addition to these rituals, the festival includes cultural programs, including traditional music, dance performances,and folk arts allowing devotees to experience the rich heritage of Kerala’s temple traditions.
