Cherumukha Puthenkavil Sree Devi Temple located in the serene town of Alappuzha is all set to host one of the most auspicious and spiritually enriching events of the year the Srimad Bhagavatha Sapthaha Yajnam along with the Kumbha Karthika Mahotsavam in 2026
This festival is a vibrant celebration of devotion, tradition and communit, attracting devotees from across Kerala and beyond who come to seek blessings, participate in sacred rituals and immerse themselves in the temple’s spiritual atmosphere.
The Srimad Bhagavatha Sapthaha Yajnam is a week long event centered on the recitation and explanation of the Srimad Bhagavatam, one of the most revered texts in Hinduism. Conducted by highly learned priests and scholars, the yajnam provides devotees with an opportunity to gain profound spiritual knowledge engage in devotional chanting and perform special offerings.
Each day of the yajnam is meticulously structured with rituals, prayers and discourses aimed at fostering inner peace, devotion and divine connection.
In parallel, the Kumbha Karthika Mahotsavam is celebrated with grandeur and devotion. This festival highlights traditional Kerala temple rituals including ceremonial poojas, cultural performances and the famous Karthika Pongala where women devotees prepare sweet offerings to the Goddess as an expression of faith and gratitude.
