കുംഭകലശ ഘോഷയാത്ര 2026 അരയങ്കാവ് ദേവി ക്ഷേത്രം ആലപ്പുഴ | Kumbha Kalasha Ghoshayatra 2026 Arayankavu Devi Temple Alappuzha
Kumbha Kalasha Ghoshayatra at Arayankavu Devi Temple is a deeply revered devotional procession that forms an important spiritual gathering for devotees of the region. The event reflects the rich temple traditions and cultural heritage of Kerala where sacred rituals, community participation and devotion to the presiding deity come together in a vibrant and spiritually uplifting celebration.
During the Kumbha Kalasha Ghoshayatra, devotees assemble in large numbers to take part in the ceremonial procession carrying Kumbha Kalashas—sacred pots filled with holy water and decorated with coconut, mango leaves, flowers and traditional cloth. These kalashas symbolize purity, prosperity and divine blessings. The procession typically begins from a nearby temple or sacred location and proceeds with devotion and discipline towards the temple of the presiding goddess.
Accompanied by traditional temple music such as chenda melam, drum beats and devotional chants, the procession moves through the temple surroundings creating an atmosphere of devotion and festivity. Devotees including women, elders and youth actively participate in carrying the kalashas and chanting prayers in praise of the goddess. The rhythmic sounds of traditional instruments and the collective chanting of devotees enhance the spiritual energy of the procession.
As the Ghoshayatra reaches the temple premises, the sacred kalashas are ceremonially received and offered to the deity as part of the temple rituals. Priests perform special poojas invoking the blessings of the goddess for prosperity, health and well being of the devotees and the community. The event also serves as an opportunity for devotees to express gratitude, fulfill vows and seek divine protection.
