The 10-day Thiru Uthsavom at Sreekrishna Swamy Temple, Eruva, Kayamkulam, Alappuzha, is celebrated annually in January-February (Makaram).

Eruva Sreekrishnaswamy Temple is very close from Kayamkulam town. The shrine is dedicated to Lord Krishna. The temple was built by Kayamkulam Raja (king). Lord Krishna is the worshipping deity of the Kayamkulam Rajas. The annual festival is observed in Malayalam month of Makaram. It is one of the largest festivals in middle Travancore. This festival is celebrated in 10 days. This temple is one of the most important 26 Maha-Vishnu shrines in the world. There is a flag hoisting ceremony marking the beginning of the festival. The shrine is traditionally decorated with plantain, coconut leaves, flowers, leaves, traditional lamps and lights. There are special poojas and offerings during the festival period.

Also annadanam is held on all days. Traditional performing arts and music and dance are staged during the festival period. Thousands of devotees throng to witness the events and rituals. Numerous cultural programs and temple arts are performed on all days of the festival. The seventh and eighth days festivals are very important. 7in day ulsavam is celebrated in temple's west region (padinjare kara) and 8th day ulsavam is celebrated in temple's east region (kizhakke kara). On these days kettukazcha is there which attracts many. Caparisoned elephants, melam, fireworks and sheevali are part of the festival. There are a lot of cultural events and religious discourses. On the final day Arattu(holy bath) takes place where the utsava murti of the deity is taken out of the shrine for ritual bathing.
