Anpoli Mahotsavam at Erayil Bhagavathy Temple, Alappuzha is one of the most vibrant and culturally rich temple festivals in Kerala. Celebrated with devotion and grandeur, this festival attracts devotees and tourists from across the state and beyond. The festival is a beautiful blend of spiritual rituals, traditional art forms and community participation reflecting the rich cultural heritage of Alappuzha. Anpoli Mahotsavam 2026  at Erayil Bhagavathy Temple The celebrations begin with the offering of prayers and rituals to the presiding deity, Erayil Bhagavathy invoking blessings for prosperity, health and well being. Devotees participate in various Vazhipadu and witness the meticulous recitation of Bhagavatha Parayanam which narrates the stories of divine heroes and the glory of the goddess. Harinaamakirtanam and devotional songs fill the temple premises with a serene spiritual atmosphere fostering a deep sense of devotion among attendees.

One of the highlights of the festival is Kaikotti Kali, a traditional group dance performed by women showcasing grace, rhythm and storytelling through movement. The festival also features Semiclassical dance performances adding an artistic dimension to the spiritual festivities. In the evening, the grand Kuthiyottam ritual and Deepakazhcha light up the temple grounds creating a mesmerizing spectacle for devotees and visitors. The festival culminates with the Thalappoli procession where women carry traditional lamps accompanied by vibrant percussion ensembles. This procession is symbolic of prosperity, devotion and the triumph of light over darkness. Fireworks and Annadanam further enhance the festive atmosphere,
