This festival dedicated to Deshadevan draws devotees from across Kerala and beyond, offering a unique blend of spiritual and cultural experiences. The temple comes alive with vibrant decorations, devotional music and a series of sacred rituals that highlight the rich heritage of Kerala’s temple traditions.
The festival begins with Thrikkodiyettam on February 11, 2026, symbolizing the official start of the celebrations. Throughout the festival, the temple conducts special poojas, offerings and prayers creating a spiritual atmosphere that attracts large gatherings of devotees. Artistic traditions are an integral part of the festival with performances such as Kathakali, classical music recitals and folk arts reflecting the cultural richness of the region.
A key highlight of the festival is the Pallivetta on February 19, 2026, a symbolic ritual representing the deity hunting evil forces. It is performed with traditional percussion instruments, processions and ceremonial grandeur creating an immersive experience for devotees. The festival concludes with the Thiruarattu on February 20, 2026 when the idol of Deshadevan is ceremonially taken to a sacred water body for a ritual bath marking the end of the celebrations.
