Thiruvutsavam 2026 at Cheerapanchira Mukkalvattom Sree Ayyappan Temple located at Muhamma in Alappuzha district is a spiritually significant and culturally vibrant annual festival that reflects the deep rooted traditions of Kerala temple worship.
This historic temple holds a unique place in Ayyappa lore being revered as the Ayodhana Kalari Sthanam of Sree Ayyappaswami and the Moolakudumba Sthanam of Malikappurathamma giving the festival a special religious importance among devotees.
The festival unfolds with a series of sacred rituals and ceremonial observances performed strictly according to temple customs. The beginning of Thiruvutsavam is marked by Kappu Kettu symbolizing divine protection and the formal commencement of the celebrations.
