2026 മാർച്ച് 6 മുതൽ 15 വരെ കേരളത്തിലെ ആലപ്പുഴ ജില്ലയിൽ സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്ന പുണ്യസ്ഥാനമായ അമ്പലപ്പുഴ ശ്രീകൃഷ്ണസ്വാമി ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ തിരുവുത്സവം ഭക്തിപൂർവ്വം ആഘോഷിക്കപ്പെടും. തിരുക്കൊടിയേറ്റം, നാടകശാല സദ്യ, വിവിധ പരമ്പരാഗത ക്ഷേത്രചടങ്ങുകൾ എന്നിവയോടൊപ്പം ഭക്തജനങ്ങളുടെ സാന്നിധ്യത്തിൽ മഹത്തായ തിരുവാരാട്ട് ചടങ്ങോടെ ഉത്സവം സമാപിക്കും.

Thiru Utsavam at the sacred Ambalappuzha Sree Krishna Swamy Temple in Ambalappuzha located in Alappuzha District of Kerala is one of the most spiritually vibrant annual festivals celebrated in honour of Lord Krishna. The temple, renowned for its deep devotional traditions and historical significance becomes a center of religious fervor and cultural celebration during this auspicious festival period. Thiru Utsavam 2026  at Ambalappuzha Sree Krishna Swamy Temple Devotees from different parts of Kerala and neighboring regions visit the temple to participate in the rituals and seek the blessings of Lord Krishna. The festival usually begins with Thrikkodiyettu, the ceremonial flag hoisting that marks the formal commencement of the Utsavam. This sacred ritual symbolizes the divine invitation to devotees and celestial beings to witness the celebrations. From this day onward, the temple premises are filled with devotional activities, Vedic chanting and traditional temple rituals conducted according to ancient Kerala Tantric traditions. Each day of the festival features special poojas, offerings and temple ceremonies dedicated to the presiding deity. The atmosphere is enriched with traditional temple music including chenda melam and other classical percussion ensembles that accompany many of the rituals and processions. Cultural programs and devotional performances are also organized reflecting the rich artistic heritage of Kerala’s temple festivals.

One of the important highlights of the festival is the Nadakashala Sadya, a traditional feast served to devotees and participants. This ritual feast represents the spirit of hospitality and communal harmony that is deeply rooted in Kerala’s temple culture. Hundreds of devotees gather to partake in this sacred meal as part of the festival celebrations. The festival concludes with the grand Thiru Aarattu, the ceremonial holy bath of the deity. During this ritual, the idol of Lord Krishna is taken out in a majestic procession accompanied by traditional temple instruments, caparisoned elephants and devotees chanting prayers. The Aarattu symbolizes purification, divine grace and the culmination of the sacred celebrations.
