Velorvattom Sri Mahadeva Temple is believed to have been constructed in the 7th century by Azhvanchery Thamprakkal.According to legend, the installation of the idol of Lord Shiva was performed by sage Parasurama himself.
This temple is unique as it features two Nalambalams (circumambulatory paths around the sanctum sanctorum) and two flag masts, distinguishing it from many other temples in Kerala.
