Sree Narasimha Moorthy (Vadakkanappan): This temple, believed to have originated in the 7th century AD, houses Lord Narasimha, the fierce man-lion incarnation of Lord Vishnu. The idol is said to have originated from Kashi (Varanasi).

Sree Maha Sudarsana Moorthy (Thekkanappan): This temple, believed to be even older (over 1300 years, possibly dating back to Treta or Dwapara Yuga), is dedicated to Lord Sudarsana, the divine discus of Lord Vishnu.

Thuravoor Mahakshetram is an ancient and architecturally magnificent temple complex. It stands out with its twin Sreekovils (sanctum sanctorums) one square and the other circular housed within a single Nalambalam, two towering gold-plated flagmasts (Dwajastambhas), and a majestically tall Anapandhal (elephant rostrum), which is considered the largest in Kerala. The temple is famous for its intricate wood carvings, stone sculptures, and mural paintings. A unique tradition here involves the Melsanthi (chief priest) maintaining absolute celibacy and not leaving the temple premises during his tenure.

Festivals

The Temple has a number of festivals. The important ones are :

Thuravoor Mahotsavam (Annual Festival)
The primary festival is the Thuravoor Mahotsavam, a grand 10-day annual celebration that draws thousands of devotees. It commences with the 'Kodiyettam' (flag hoisting). A notable ritual during this festival is the 'Thitambu Nriththam', a unique ritualistic dance involving the deities of Lord Krishna and Balarama at Pookoth Nada. The festival is distinct for its absence of fireworks or elephants in its late-night celebrations at Pookoth Nada.

Deepavali / Valiyavilakku
The temple observes Deepavali as a significant festival, sometimes referred to as 'Valiyavilakku', which can be a 9-day festival. This involves grand lighting of lamps and special observances, reflecting the joyous spirit of the festival of lights.
