Thaipooyam

Thaipooyam is a significant festival celebrated in South India, especially in the state of Kerala, dedicated to Lord Murugan, also known as Subrahmanya or Kartikeya. It is observed on the day of the Pooyam star in the Malayalam month of Thai (January-February). Thaipooyam commemorates the victory of Lord Murugan over the demon Tarakasura.
