Lord Mahadeva, also known as Shiva, is a principal deity in Hinduism, revered as the supreme being who represents the destroyer aspect of the Trimurti, alongside Brahma the creator and Vishnu the preserver.
Mahadeva is often depicted as a yogi seated in meditation, adorned with a crescent moon on his head, a snake around his neck, and a trident (trishula) in his hand. He is known for his fierce form as well, symbolized by his third eye, which, when opened, can destroy anything in its path.
