Special huts are constructed in the temple premises for this purpose, and the number of these huts increases each year. Instead of sandalwood paste Vibhuti(holy ash) is given to devotees.

Festivals

The Temple has a number of festivals. The important ones are :

Vrischika Mahotsavam

Vrischika Mahotsavam is celebrated during the first 12 days of the Malayalam month of Vrischikam at Padanilam Parabrahma Temple. The festival culminates on the twelfth day, known as Panthrand Vilakk. During this period, devotees engage in bhajans and various rituals, residing in specially constructed huts within the temple compound. Each year, as part of the Vrischika Mahotsavam, the temple administration bestows the Parabrahma Chaithanya Award to notable personalities for their outstanding contributions in their respective fields.

Padanilam Sivarathri

Sivarathri is the main festival at Padanilam Parabrahma Temple. During this festival, giant effigies of bulls, known locally as kettukala, are pulled to the temple from 15 territories associated with the temple, with some effigies exceeding 50 feet in height. Thousands of devotees gather at the temple on Sivarathri day to witness the kaavadiyattam for Lord Subrahmanyan in the morning, where kaavadis from various parts of the region converge at the temple. The Kettulsavam, held in the evening, is the most spectacular sight of the festival, showcasing the grandeur and devotion of the participants.
