Thrikkarthika
During Thrikkarthika, homes and temples are adorned with rows of oil lamps or diyas to celebrate the triumph of light over darkness and to honor Lord Shiva and Lord Muruga. The lighting of lamps symbolizes the dispelling of ignorance and the awakening of spiritual enlightenment.
