The primary deity of the temple is Lord Shiva, revered as Kandiyoorappan, the presiding deity of Kandiyoor. The sanctum sanctorum, facing eastward, is adorned with a two-tiered rectangular structure, featuring a unique platform in the front for devotees, reminiscent of the Hoysala architectural style
The temple's distinctive architecture includes a bottom tier of oval shape and a top tier of rectangular design, while a towering 10 feet Gajaprishta-style wall, believed to be constructed by Shiva's Bhoothaganas, surrounds the sacred precincts.
