Constructed during the reign of Moolam Thirunal, the temple stands out for its unique deity, Evoor Bhagavan, who is depicted in a distinct form known as Prayoga Chakra Prathishta. Unlike typical Vishnu temples, the idol of Lord Krishna here portrays him in his four-armed Vishnu form, holding the Panchajanya Shankha, Sudarshana Chakra, and butter in three hands, while the fourth arm rests on his hip.
The deity is depicted in a fierce manifestation, and a notable offering at this temple is Raktha-pushpanjali, a special ritual not commonly found in other Vishnu temples. The Evoor Major Srikrishnaswamy Temple stands as a unique and revered place of worship, drawing devotees to experience the divine presence of Lord Krishna in his distinct form.
