Thiruvathira Arattu Maholsavam
Thiruvathira Arattu Maholsavam at the Amballoor Mahadeva Temple in Mekkadampu, Alappuzha, is a grand festival that includes a ceremonial procession and ritualistic bath (Arattu) of the deity. The Arattu takes place at the nearby Muvattupuzha River, where the idol of Lord Shiva is taken in a procession accompanied by traditional music, drumming, and vibrant cultural performances. Devotees participate enthusiastically in the rituals, seeking the blessings of the deity and celebrating the auspicious occasion with great fervor and devotion.
